Notre Dame LB Had Powerful, Tear-Filled Message About His College Career After Loss

In Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship game in Atlanta, the Fighting Irish initially gave a strong performance, scoring a touchdown on an 18-play drive at the beginning of the game, but still couldn't keep up with the heavily favored Buckeyes.

The loss was undoubtedly a devastating one for Notre Dame, which hasn't claimed a national championship since 1988. Emotions ran high afterward, particularly for senior linebacker Jack Kiser, who openly showed his feelings during his postgame press conference.

He expressed that the memories of his time at Notre Dame still resonate deeply with him, and he said he'll always remember those days with great significance:

When I think back over the six years I've spent here, what really stands out to me are the people," Kiser said. "From when I was a freshman just trying to figure things out and looking up to guys like Drew White and Bo Bauer, to being able to run with my teammates in JD and Marist, and then returning this year with a chip on my shoulder and being joined by new guys like Riley, and just going through the journey we've been on together.

It's all about the people here. What makes this place stand out is the incredible people involved. It shows where this program is headed in the future. The people working here are truly the best, without a doubt.

Kiser concluded his last season with 90 tackles and two sackings.
