Travis Barker Visits Incarcerated Firefighters in Los Angeles: ‘These Guys Are Heroes'

He is showing his appreciation for the firefighters who continue to put their lives on the line to help control and put out the disastrous Los Angeles fires.

Blink-182's drummer was spotted at the Rose Bowl Complex in Pasadena, California, this week, where he visited firefighters at the frontlines and met with members of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, which supports individuals who have been previously incarcerated and advocates for changes in the criminal justice system.

Barker posted photos on his Instagram Stories of himself standing alongside the National Guard, as well as firefighters from Growlersburg Conservation Camp #33, which is managed by Cal Fire and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. "These guys are heroes," he wrote under a group photo with the firefighters. "They are putting their lives on the line to help others. Rescue people. Assist people. And become better men in the process."

He went on to say, "I love the awareness that the Anti-Recidivism Coalition is bringing to the people who are incarcerated and fighting these fires. Many of them came from the juvenile system and this program is giving them a real chance at change and to make a positive impact. Seeing the humanity in all of them was truly amazing."

As of now, the Palisades Fire on the west side of LA has spread across over 23,000 acres and is now 63% under control, whereas the east-side Eaton Fire has reached 89% containment at 14,000 acres.  In the last 2 weeks, these fires have led to at least 27 fatalities, a whopping 100,000 people under evacuation orders, and the destruction of over 12,000 buildings.
